Satisfaction

Satisfaction

“for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things..”

                                                                                                                                Psalms 107:9 [NIV]

There are so many ways we can satisfy our lives. The options are unlimited in this day and age. There’s food, entertainment, holidays, shopping …the list is endless. However, where in the list is God? We are so focused on external stuff to satisfy us, but we forget that we are spiritual beings. As believers in Christ, our satisfaction should come from within as God lives inside us. Our thirst and hunger should be for God and all things God. He is the source of our satisfaction. Everything else is just secondary, interim and volatile.

The longing for God comes only when we desire to build a relationship with him. We serve the God of relationship who desired us and died for us on the cross. There’s no greater love than one dying for another, the scripture says in John 15:13. When we meditate on this truth, on what Jesus has done for us on the cross by enduring all the suffering and dying for the sake of our lives, we will understand how long, how deep, how wide his love is for us. He is the God who left all heavenly privileges as the Son of God and put our broken lives above His privileges and took our place on the cross, and the only reason is LOVE. Only this revelation draws us closer to Him, and satisfaction fills our hearts that all that matters to us is God. Nothing else can give us that satisfaction. The undeserving love of God Almighty satisfies our inner being, and a holy gratification fills our hearts. The appetite is met with peace, joy and cheer.

The more we know Him, the more we want Him. The more we want Him, the more our longing and desire. Therefore, my child, focus on his love for you. Know that God loves you, and only he can satisfy you. Everything around us is only temporary, but Jesus is eternal. So, let’s pursue a relationship that is everlasting and satisfying. He is worth it!!

Let’s Pray:

Dear Lord, we come with a longing heart. We thirst and hunger for you alone. You are all that we want, so satisfy our hearts and fill us with the good things that come from above. You are the source of our joy and peace. So, satisfy us with these good things that we rejoice in you alone. In Jesus name, Amen.
