Renew your Mind

Renew your Mind

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Romans 12:2 [NIV]

For the last few days, we have been dwelling on the now word, “all things have become new.” Now that God has made all things new, we do not live in past ways of thinking but are renewed in our thought processes. We think from the standpoint of who we are in Christ. Our souls should obey the Spirit of the Lord and think according to the righteousness we have inherited through Christ. No more old patterns of wrong thinking of self-pity, discouragement, or doubt.

As children of God, neither do we conform to the patterns of this world. We don’t walk in the worldly ways nor think as the world thinks. Our mind should think according to our faith in Jesus Christ, that he is for us and not against us. David says in Psalms 19:14, “Let the words of my mouth and meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight.” He is asking God to shape his speech and thoughts to align with God’s will. This pleases God and increases clarity in our lives.

My child, be encouraged to think righteous thoughts that edify you and the people around you. Then you will know God’s will for your life.

Let’s Pray:

Dear Lord, help us not to conform to the patterns of this world. May our silent thoughts reflect your goodness and mercy and empower our lives with your righteousness. Renew our minds, as we meditate on your word. May our speech be life-giving and align with your perfect will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
