Ancient Doors

Lift up your heads, you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.

                                                                                                                              Psalms 24:7 [NIV]

Today’s promise is a triumphant welcome to the King of Glory. We lift our city gates and doors that have been closed for a long time to greet and embrace the mighty King. This is a call to drop all our burdens at His feet, surrender all and welcome His mighty presence into our hearts. We receive our King with joy, rejoicing and celebrating the Most High.

We take the posture of worship to welcome the glorious, eternal King, for we belong to Him. He is victorious over all our lives, attitudes and situations. This King of glory is the Lord of Heaven’s armies, King of Kings and lord of Lords, Lion of Judah, majestic, strong and mighty. Every high thing has to bow down to Him. Our defender, protector and sovereign ruler.

God deserves a grand welcome, and the scripture reminds us of the time David welcomed the Ark of the Covenant (2 Samuel 6:14). God’s presence is established in our hearts as we worship Him, setting aside every aspect of our lives and honouring Him above our desires. God is the centre of our lives, and every aspect of our lives should revolve around him.

Let’s pray:

Dear Lord, we pray and declare that every gate be opened in our lives that is closed so that you may reside in us. We set every burden aside and rejoice in you for your triumphant entry. You reign victorious, and we embrace your divine entry. Let the weight of your glory settle into our hearts. We surrender all at your feet. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
