Draw Near to God

Draw Near to God

Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.

                                                                                James 4:8 [NIV]

When God gives us a specific instruction, we must obey it. God created human beings in His image because we are His beloved bride. The primary purpose of humans is to have a relationship with God. The Bible says obedience is better than sacrifice. When we obey God, His trust in us grows, and our relationship with Him is strengthened.

Today, the Lord is instructing us to draw close to Him. To spend time with him, to worship Him, to seek His face and glorify His name. Often, we get so caught up in seeking His hands because of the burdens of our lives, but remember, my child, our God is in control of our lives.  May you put your burdens aside today and seek His face.

God’s presence is divine and revives us, and when we draw close to Him, He will draw close to us. We need to take that first step to enter His presence. He is waiting for us to surrender our baggage and enjoy His presence. Here’s what we can do to draw close to Him. An excerpt from Psalms 104: 33-34 [NIV]

I will sing to the Lord all my life;
    I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
34 May my meditation be pleasing to him,
    as I rejoice in the Lord.

Rejoice in the Lord today, seek His face and meditate on His goodness. God bless!

Let’s Pray:

Dear Lord, thank you for the instruction you have given us today. Forgive us for seeking your hands and not your face. Today, we draw close to you and seek your face. May your name be lifted high in all our meditation and worship. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
