Eternity

Eternity

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things                                                                                     Colossians 3: 2 [NIV]

The world is saturated with social media content, and the digital noise surrounding us is endless. This is influencing the younger generation around us and even older generations, if we are being honest. This encore of clamour is drawing many towards temporary pleasures and deceptive promises of fulfilment. The original, unchanging truth is becoming less and less appealing to all generations in this fast-paced, changing world.

As Christians, we must continually remind ourselves that our true worth is found in Jesus Christ, the One who gave His life for us. Our achievements, possessions, and social status are temporary, but our identity in Christ is eternal. Therefore, our lives should not be centred on worldly success but on making an eternal impact for God’s Kingdom.

Today’s scripture serves as a spiritual health check, prompting us to return to the core of who we are and to remind ourselves that we are only journeying through this life towards our destiny of eternal life. Therefore, our attachment to this world cannot surpass our desire to be with our eternal God.

My child, what has been capturing your attention lately? I would encourage you to pause and set your priorities right so that God is honoured in everything you do. Today, choose to refocus your heart on Christ. Let everything you do—whether at work, at school, at home, or in your community—bring honour to God. May our greatest desire always be to please Him and to live according to His ways, making a lasting impact for His glory.

Let’s Pray:

Dear Lord, help us to set our minds on things above. We acknowledge that we are only passing through this life and our true home is with you. Lord, we ask that you transform our perspective so we live as citizens of heaven on earth, reflecting your love and truth. Thank you for reminding us that our worth is rooted in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
