… to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.
Hebrews 12:24 [NIV]
As Christians, we are citizens of heavenly Jerusalem even though we live on earth, as the kingdom of God is within us. We live in the new covenant of grace and mercy, repenting for our sins, with Jesus as the mediator. The Holy Spirit is helping us to live like the citizens of the heavenly Kingdom.
The blood of Jesus contrasts with the blood of Abel. When Cain murdered Abel out of jealousy, the blood of Abel cried for vengeance and justice. However, when the blood of Jesus was shed for our redemption, it speaks of mercy, forgiveness, and peace. As Christians, we seek God’s mercy, we make peace with our adversaries, and we forgive those who trespass against us because we have been forgiven by God.
Today’s verse is about the blood of Jesus. No matter what you have passed through in the last season, I plead the blood of Jesus on you and speak life. The blood of Jesus has cleansing power, and all things have become new. My child, Jesus is our mediator, and He is for us, not against us.
Let’s Pray:
Dear God, we thank you that the blood of Jesus is pure and holy. The blood of Jesus gives us new life, and we walk in freedom. Lord, we thank you for your sacrifice and new covenant. We sprinkle your blood on us and declare victory over our situations. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
